ALERT: South Salt Lake Police Phone Number Has Been Spoofed
The South Salt Lake Police Department has discovered that the main office number for the department has been spoofed and is being used in a scam to lure people into sending money for what they are lead to believe is for bail or lawyer services for a family member. When the scammer calls, the number that shows on the victim's caller ID will be the main number of the police department, 801-412-3600. The scammer tells the victim their loved one has been arrested and needs money for bail or a lawyer. THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WILL NEVER CALL AND SOLICIT FUNDS. If you receive one of these calls, do not send any money, and contact our dispatch at 801-840-4000.
