Best of South Salt Lake 2019

bestofsslAt this years annual State of the City luncheon, Mayor Wood gave out "Best of South Salt Lake" awards. Each of these awards highlight some of the best people, businesses, food, volunteers and partners in the City. These awards help to recognize the work and partnerships of the city's 25,000 residents and 2,100 businesses to make the City a great place to live, learn, work, do business, dine, shop and play. Quality of Life


The City of South Salt Lake and the surrounding areas have all of the world class amenities that any first class city has to offer. Within minutes residents can be accessing downtown Salt Lake City, enjoying one of the many City and regional parks, eating at one of South Salt Lake's fifty unique restaurants or recreating in the nearby mountains.

Living in South Salt Lake


Due to location in the Salt Lake Valley and efficient development and entitlement process, South Salt Lake has seen a steady increase in residential building and renewed developer investment. South Salt Lake is focused on developing housing that meets that needs of all household incomes as well as all stages of life. A majority of new mulit-family housing is located in new urban neighborss and conveniently located within a short walking distance of a light rail station or streetcar stop. Parks and Open Space

SSL Parks

Open Space is an important amenity to South Salt Lake residents. The City recently adopted a Parks and Openspace Master Plan in order to continue to provide this valuable resource to South Salt Lake residents. Currently, the City is master planning each park to ensure that they meet the needs of community residents and provide the best opportunities for recreation.
